The home I built

I built you a home
Out of blue shelves and love
I promised I'd take care of the garden
And pour sugar in your tea
For the rest of my life

When you died, the flowers died too
No more sugar or tea, I only taste the salty of my tears
This is the home I built for you
Without you in it, it serves no purpose

I live in a monument of a memory
Haunted by memories of a love so needed and so lost
And when I lay down at night, I remember
There's no such thing as an unhaunted house.
